Surprisingly drinkable, and also surprising is this is a Belgian ale even a bottle that screams pale lager. Sweet candyish aroma with Belgian yeast. Sweet flavor with lots of malt and sugar, as well as some sweet fruit. Light hops as an afterthought, I didn’t pick up the Saaz at all, and usually I detect that hop because I like it so much. Also what, and some spice including coriander. A very drinkable beer. FLnative80 (174), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2008 Bottle. 12 fl. oz. Hazy, amber color with frothy, white head. Good lacing. Sweet aroma of honey, lemon, and yeast. Medium bodied with a fairly dry texture. Flavor starts out bitter, then finishes with a big, sweet ending. The alcohol was well hidden. A strong, enjoyable beer. robinvboyer (1428), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada

Hazy orange pour, next to no head. NOse is fruity, and yeasty. Notes of orange, pineapple, banana and fruit caramel with a big yeasty kick. Flavour is quite sweet, almost cloying. The fruitiness comes through again, leaves a bananaish aftertaste. Interesting belgian, kinda like a belgian wit on steroids. badgerben (3596), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2008 [Bottle, thanks Ibrew2or3!] Pours hazy dark gold with a white head. Aroma is light banana, soem malt and a bit of spiciness. Taste is quite sweet with yeast, a little spice and solid malt. There was a light chemical taste, but it really didn’t detract too much. Medium mouthfeel. This really wasn’t bad at all, I would say that it is somewhat underrated based upon this bottle. Skyview (4020), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2008 Sampled from a 12-oz bottle at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota and shared by OSLO. Pours a semi-clear amber brew with an average off-white head that slowly dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Nice lacing after the dissolve. Aroma of Belgian yeast, banana esters, a touch of clove, flowery hops and some Munich malt. Taste is medium bodied, some light carbonation with flavors of some biscuit malt, banana esters, cotton candy, cloves and honey. Finish is a little metallic from the higher alcohol but has a lingering banana and clove aftertaste that slowly disappears. I thought this was going to be more of an amber beer at first until the Belgian yeast aroma hit me first. grandet (480), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA
