Bottle, brought back from Barcelona. Pours a very dark, blackish beer with a creamy beige head on top. Aroma is nice and malty, licorish and roast mostly. Touch of coffee in the background. Flavor is medium sweet, with a nice, bitter touch to it in the background. Could be some molasses or burnt sugars which are acting up in the background. Aftertaste is long, cloying and medium sweet. Very nice surprise this one.

Pours a huge head. Aroma has vichy-like notes and some roasted tones. Feels floury. Flavour has hops, some cocoa, ashy notes and wood. Also hints of licorice. Too acidic and most likely the amount of CO2 ruins the flavours here.

Black colour with a huge foamy tan head. Mild roasted malt, acidity, sweetness and hops in the aroma. The flavour is hops, roasted malt and some sweetness. Quite airy?

500 ml bottle. Pours a black colour with a large foamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, ash and chocolate. Rich flavour of chocolate, dried fruits, ash, strong bitterness and some sweetness. Mild sourness. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and high-ish carbonation. Good.

Pours black color with a huge beige head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel malts, cocoa, coffee and some hops. Some distant vegetable notes on the background. Flavor of malts, ash, cocoa, coffee and mild wooden notes. Dry and tasty but a bit too strong carbonation.

Bottled 6.4.13 - Pours pitch black with a massive foamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, burnt notes, dry bitter hoppiness, hints of syrup and candi sugar. Taste is smooth, sweetish and roasty with bitter sugary sweetness, hints of syrup. Finish is carbonated, burnt, ashy and roasty with hints of sweetness. A bit unbalanced.

500ml Bottle - Black with a tan head. Roasted malt, dusted almonds and a hint of chocolate in the aroma. Smooth, roasted and moderately hoppy taste with notes of liquorice fudge, coffee, chocolate and soapy hops. Nicely balanced and very easy to drink for its strength.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2013 Bomba de mano. Vaso de 1/2 pt. Saboreada el 2 de jul´13, en el Homo Sibaris de Barcelona durante la presentación en primicia. Brota con un color negro como la noche, coronada por una espuma beige que genera una corona fina pero persistente. En nariz predominan los aromas de maltas torrefactas y quemadas sobre un subyacente tono resinoso. La entrada de sensación cremosa y malta torrefacta precede a un amargor emergente de pino y gentil resina, redondeado por un toque picante. Cuerpo intenso y carbonatación suave. Cacao amargo y notas de granos de café torrefactados en el intermedio. Final meloso dónde las maltas quedan bien equilibradas por una seca lupulización. Leves trazos de regaliz afloran en el prolongado retrogusto. Refrescante, deliciosa y de fácil asimilación, resulta perfecta para "ir de cañas con fundamento". Una American Stout que vale la pena. Hand-pump. 1/2 pt glass. Enjoyed on jul 2, 2013 in Homo Sibaris (Barcelona). Pours pitch black headed by a beige foam. Thin but lasting crown. Roasted & burnt malt aromas predominate over underneath resins to the nose. Creamy sensation & roasted malt upfront followed by increasing piney & gentle resiny bitterness rounded by spicy touch. Full body. Soft carbonation. Bitter cocoa & notes of roasted coffee grains in the middle. Unctuous finish where malts are well balanced by dry hoppiness. Slight licorice hints are shown in a long aftertaste. Refreshing, delicious & easy drinkable. Perfect as a "session beer". A worth to try American Stout.
