3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Kunstemaecker (27) - Steenkerke, BELGIUM - SEP 23, 2011
A well done dark version of the classic Hommelbier. Tried it on tap. Caramel and malty aroma, not quite dark in appearance, rather an amber color. It taste sweet in the beginning but that soon gives way for that typical hoppy taste that is Hommelbier. The alcohol is well masked by the caramel and hops. I thought it was a lighter beer than it really is.
