jjpm74 (2694), Connecticut, USA Feb 22, 2008 Pours red and still with a nice neck. Smells of honey and tart blueberries. Tastes of blueberries, chewable vitamins, orange juice and honey. Nice for what it is. muzzlehatch (4422), Burlington, Vermont, USA Sep 12, 2007 750 ml corked, foil-wrapped bottle from City Market in Burlington, VT (September 2007), sampled from a White Winter Winery glass out of the fridge. The extremely cheap and dry cork disintigrates utterly as I try to remove it from the bottle, a very bad sign.....however, I manage to get a glass that’s clear, deep violet and slightly oily, with thick but fast-fading legs; completely still....the aroma is oaky, tannic, lightly fruity and floral; honey character subdued, this has a character closer to something like a Chianti.....the body though is quite sweet, the floral honey very upfront, with a thick and viscous mouthfeel at first that dries out slowly; the acidic character of the fruit comes through, a tartness reminiscent of the skins of unripe berries, but the flavor is quite subtle....alcohol is warming and noticeable, but not overpowering; pretty much as it should be with this gravity....solid, but unspectacular medium-sweet example.
