"havenít had a mead in a while, so the slightly alcoholic uber sweetness was a bit of a slap in the face, but this is an enjoyable warming libation. coffee is strong in the aroma and flavor. even after getting used to it, itís almost TOO sweet, but the coffee and honey work well together."

Draft at Edmunds Oast. Still golden pour. Aroma is baked apples, pears, earth and coffee notes. Flavor is medium sweet with apples, honey pears, earthiness and coffee. Moderately dry finish and no real noticeable alcohol. Not bad.

750 ml. bottle, thanks Poisoneddwarf- Pours an old gold to amber clear. Aroma is honey, spice, coffee. The taste is honey mead with coffee, I do taste the coffee, interesting. As far as meads go this is good, never had a coffee one before, and it was decent.

750 ml corked bottle. Pours still copper. Aroma is vinegar, coffee and thatís about it. Taste is a little rotten; tastes a little like black coffee spiked with fermented honey; raisins come out as it warms. Mouthfeel is syrupy like any mead should be. Iíve had a lot better, that is for certain.

Notes from 6/12. 5oz sampler glass from Sunset Grill. Clear, golden amber color. Slightly dull though. Scent of smokey coffee, tobacco, & earthy honey sweetness. The honey was a bit overshadowed, now that I think about it. Taste is mild citric honey & brown sugar. Maybe something nutty. Coffee flavor is second runnings, bland coffee. Not bitter or burnt thankfully, but boring, & the honey isnít bold enough to try & make up for it. Slightly sappy texture initially, turning very thin. No crazy off flavors & mellow alcohol keep it tolerable. Coffee meads do seem to work, but not this one.
