750 ml bottle shared with my wife. Pours a clear, rich, fairly deep gold with no head. This is a still mead. Very pleasant aroma that is filled with figs and sweet honey. The two combine very nicely in the nose. The flavor is again filled with figs and sweet honey, although there is also a slight metallic twang that detracts just a bit from the flavor. Dense mouthfeel but not cloying or syrupy. This is definitely a very sweet mead and a slow-sipper.

the aroma and taste has a in the ground dirt flavors. a very mild tangy ting at the end, and the palate is medium bodied. a very strange bitterness that is hardly recognizable. not quite the mead for me.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2010 Sample from bottle at Glunz Beer Expo, April ’10. As the pourer said, it is very viscous, and we’re only getting a tiny pour because it is 12%. A bit of a figgy smell (I could say figgy pudding, but I’ve never had that). Very thick and golden yellow in glass. Tastes very much like figs. Taste much better than the coffee and chili meads I’ve had from these folks. Guess it just goes to show that meads work best with fruit. The fig taste adds to the thick mouthfeel. It sits on the tongue very nicely. Well recommended.

Bottle, thanks to Mike the B. United guy. Deep gold pour. Ripe fig and honey aroma. Thin body, pungent dark fruits, fig taste with some honey peaking through. Odd tasting mead.

Im not sure what the other reviews for this one were drinking but man I liked this mead. Really unique smokey taste with light fig flavor and nice herbal honey. A bit thin to be world class but I loved it.

My first mead ever. Tried at DLD through the generosity of a complete stranger. Golden pour. Sweet aroma- honey, flowery, figs. Taste was the same but real sweet. Alcohol was not noticeable at all. A mead that will lead me to try others.

Bottle, thanks to Mike the B. United guy. Pours clear golden. Strange but enticing aroma of figs, honey, vanilla and drag cut palms. Flavor mimics, with the green palm flavors standing out. Very interesting but very good.

Bottle from New Beer Distro. 1.5 yrs old. Baby Duvel tulip. Don’t understand the low scores for this.
Well chilled. Leggy, shiney, amber orange body.
Smells just like quality, unfermented, raw clover honey. Seriously. Even has a touch of wildflower & soft citrus notes. Darker, maple-y stuff as well.
Taste isn’t as life-changing, but still pretty solid. Very fruity upfront. Mellow plum-ish sweetness. Big apple tartness that cuts any overly sweet notions. Cherry pit. Maple & ash on the finish.
Thin. More honey wine then mead. Lightly slick body. Hidden alcohol. Easy. I’m very surprised.
