COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mead is considered to be the first alcoholic federate produced by mankind. Mead was so common in the year 1015 a fire in the German city of Meisen was extinguished with honey wine because of o shortage of water. Mead making underwent a decline in the 1700s but today is regaining popularity. Wildflower honey for the production of our authentic Golden Drop Mead. Has been collected by our bees in the lush meadows of beautiful Prince Edward Island.

February 11, 2012 - with JoeMcPhee, blankboy, jercraigs & mabel. Clear 750ml bottle c/o j&m. Very pale gold, no head, pretty much no legs either - uhmmm ... okay? - damned if I know what a good mead looks like. Smells of alcohol, honey and actual floral bitterness - not bad! Taste is ... mild; more like a light white wine with some honey and grassiness added. Light body, not very syrupy, weak carbonation, some tartness in the quick finish - ehhh.

Bottle [750ml] shared with HogTownHarry, JoeMcPhee, jerc & mabel -- c/o j&m. Feb. 11. Pours a clear, very pale yellow with no head. Aroma of honey, alcohol and flowers. Somewhat watery flavour of honey and floral notes. Light to average bodied. Just O.K., too watery.

[4299-20120211] 750mL bottle. Floral honeyed petrol aroma reminds me of bees throwing up. Clear, pale yellow body with no head. Honey sweet floral flavour. Light-medium body is fairly boozy. Not pleasant. (3/2/5/3/10-) 2.3

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2012 2012-02-11. Pale yellow body, headless. 2+ Sweet aroma, very floral honey character. Flavour is similar, sweet, very floral honey character. 6+ Smooth average to light bodied palate, no carbonation. Decent, but the floral character is not to my taste. 2010 Vintage bottle purchased from PEI Liquor Store August 2011

Pale straw colour. The aroma is quite floral and honeyish. A touch of soft fruit and some light vineous character. A touch of floral character. A bit honeyish with some nice flavour. A little bit of light watery flavour. There is a touch of light acidic flavour.

375 ml bottle from the PEI Liquor Control Commission’s Oak Tree store. The Queen Street location was all out but this one had bottles in both sizes and plenty of them. 2009 vintage. Pours a pale, bright yellow-gold colorwith no head and some visible floaters- natural-looking, I suppose. Aroma of honey, floral and faint herbal notes, and apples. The flavor also had some apple along with the honey and floral notes, and came off as too one-dimensional. Light-medium bodied, with a smooth, almost metallic mouthfeel and no carbonation. Maybe a little too simple but not bad.

750ml bottle. Light golden with medium fine carbonation. The initial aromatics are delicate and beautiful, evocative of wildflowers and honey. But these unfortunately are short lived, leaving behind a sweet aroma of simple honeycomb and crayola crayons. Honey and biscuits flavour, a slight minerally quality, simple and sweet.
