Commercial Description:
Hong Kong Beer, the Brewery’s flagship label is Hong Kong’s only handcrafted beer brewed to a traditional German lager recipe. The use of a single type barley brewing malt, Hallertau hops and Weihenstephan yeast forms the basis of this elegant beer, providing it with a light fruity aroma and a notably soft palate. A long gentle lagering maturation period completes the beer with a smooth body and a refreshing finish. Hong Kong Beer it is a thirst quenching beer ideal for hot summer days and is a perfect compliment to all Chinese food.

Draft at East End Brewery, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong. Nicely done - not hoppy at all and somewhat sweet. Not too fizzy. An enjoyable, yellow-colored lager.

Sampled in HK. 330 ml bottle Bubbly white head quickly disappears leaving some lacing. Nice aroma! Smell is peppery hops, a little soapy, with a trace of malt. Doughy and wholesome, hop flavor is noticeable - grassy, passionfruit and light bitterness. Pretty assertive for a pale lager - also, some sweetness and clove. I am a total cheerleader for this beer - real hops and real malt, well done.

Yellow colored, little white head. Strongly estery aroma with some hoppy tones. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor has some floral hops and sweet fruits, some sour touch and carbonated palate also there. Carbonation lasts in aftertaste.

Bottled 4,7%.
Pale yellow color, mostly vanishing head. Grainy, cardboardish aroma. Slightly grassy, malty, quite American (not German) feeling here (Brooklyn lager!). Finish is cardboardish, which lowers the points.

Bottled (thanks omhper!). Pale golden colour, small white head. Aroma is a real haybomb. Flavour is hay, hops and slight malts. Very dry cartboardish aftertaste.
