No need to gild the lily I guess. This is not an IPA - where are the hops? It tasted malty like an English bitter but also green and unrefined. Also prominent alcohol warmth. Doesn't taste like 80 IBUs. Appearance and mouthfeel were fine.

Bottle poured a hazy reddish amber with a lasting ivory head. aromas of bread, earthiness, citrus and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, orange zest and light pink grapefruit with a smooth dry lingering citrus finish.

Tastes very much like an amber / scotch ale, but somehow green and unfinished. Hops are very faint, if at all present. If they did not call it an IPA, it would probably work better. Not for me.

A really nice beer. I have recently discovered this beer and have been enjoying popping into IFC City Super to get a couple of bottles to drink on the ferry going home. It has a light grapefruit aroma and very refreshing taste. Nice reincarnation of this beer from this company.

Just had their Dragons Back and donít find this any more hoppy. Nose is orangy hops, flavourís same, pretty sweet, in fact for an IPA this is REALLY sweet. Possibly made for the local palate but Iím from the PNW and this doesnít resemble West Coast IPAs Pretty vegetal/green. Needs a rework. Iíve brought IPAs over and my family loves them, btw. Asians are certainly not averse to bold flavours; itís quite the opposite. People here get off on "extreme cuisine". I think the brewing industryís dead wrong in their conservative "regression to sweetness" atm.

330 ml bottle bought at Liquid Assets in Central.
Clear, dull amber colour; Three-quarter finger head and soapy off-white foam which fades in 30 seconds; Moderate sticky lacing with notable carbonation; Aroma of ale malt, with grapefruit, light papaya, very light pomelo, pine, floral nectar, and light molasses; Sweet and dull taste of ale male, with light grapefruit essence, worts, strong pine, yeast, soggy bread, strong lime, bitter hops and grass; Mid to light body, oily and cloying palate; Mouth feel, like its colour, is dull and groomy: grapefruit is light and stale, pine is very strong but extract-like. The worst of all, is quite worty - itís oily, tastes pretty raw, unfresh and cloying. Yikes!Ö Hoppiness is light, stale grapefruit / citrus, floral and strong pine nose and taste; Moderate bitterness unable to overcome the wort for mostly cloying light bitter finish; Fairly dry after taste. Worty and oily to mouth.
Comments: This is a failure. Itís partially fermented, taste worty and cloying, and whatever decent light Cascade fruity aroma was all ruined by its dull dank and groomy palate. Canít bother any further. Drain pours.

Tap at hong kong brew house. Clear copper color, white head. Aroma is nice, hops, fruits, freshness. Kind of weird sweet and little alcoholic taste. Hops and fruits also. My guess is that this would be much better after two weeks staying in barrel. Now itís taste like not ready yet and flavors are not in balance.
