Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a small, off-white to white head. Malty, grassy and slightly dms-ish nose with a touch of caramel. Fruityness too. The flavor is grainy and slightly fruity, with a pleasant bitterness chiming in. Medium body, hard carbonation and quite dry. Nice bitterness in the end. Not a favorite of mine, but it goes down easily. 111126

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Corbinian (1) - - JUL 10, 2011 does not count
An excellent Maerzen style beer. The bitterness is slightly higher than would be expected from a Franconian Maerzen. The foam head and lacing is very stablle. Neither a hint of diacetyl nor dimethylsulfide. A malty note lends itself to the bitterness to give a fine balanced drinkability. Low astringency and afterbitter with a somewhat higher carbonation makes for a fine Maerzen beer.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Maria (8588) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUN 18, 2011
It’s hazy warm golden with a creamy, white head. The aroma has notes of fruit, sourish yeast, malt, and as it gets warmer also apple and candy-sugar. The flavour is slight sweet and sour in a still OK way, but it could be an infection in progress? The notes are sour citrus peel, fruit, yeast, malt, and the finish is dry and slightly sour.
