It’s warm golden with a creamy head, and the aroma has notes of fruit, malt and nectar. The flavour is sweet with notes of malt, nectar/honey, caramel, flower and alcohol. It’s an uncomplicated and pleasant bock.

Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 12, 2011
Test vom 27.12.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,10,11,12,8,12 - 11,25

Ungstrup (23993) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 29, 2010
Bottled. An amber-golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of sweet matl, caramel, and grain. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of caramel as well as some notes of alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.

The bottle looks good (except the twist-off cap). The beer tastes malty-strong, modest alcoholic, a bit woody in the background. Could be a little bit more spicy. Good beer!

Bottle 50 cl. Clear amber golden with a small, off-white head. Lovely aroma of pumpernickel and burned caramel. Full-bodied with a solid malt base and plenty of pumpernickel accents and roasted malts. Dry and hoppy finish. A very solid Bock. 291108

50 cL bottle, courtesy of Papsoe/Ungstrup. Pours clear and golden orange to light brown with a diminished white head. Roasted malty and slight earthy breadish aroma. Light metallic, solid bitter and roasted caramel to breadish malty. Dry and bitter finish with a nice lingering roasted malt flavour.

Bottle, 7.4%. Weak caramelly aroma. Clear dark grey amber colour. The flavour is caramelly with some rough pepper notes. The bitterness is not strong, but also a bit rough. A bit too caramelly in the finish. Still all right, though.
