Bottle. Pours decent gold with an aroma of stale peach champagne. Nice lacing. Flavor is reminiscent of Buffalo Butt- stale malt, rancid strawberry hops, and filth. However, it does surpass the Ass, at least a little. Mouthfeel is like something out of a water faucet. Avoid.

From tap at Taphouse Grill. Pours clear and golden orange with a smallw white head. Toasted malty and light fruity. Roasted Sweet, yeasty, caramelish and overripe fruity. Bitter and toasted finish.

Clear amber color, small off-white head. Light berryish-caramelly nose. Medium-bodied. Caramelly and berryish flavor: strawberries and lingonberries. Late light bitterness. Interesting, although not exiciting amber ale.

Bottle:   Amber in color, a little deep, moderate to large frothy off-white head, fairly nice lacing.   A little bit of a grainy malt like aroma, some basement.   Little hop aspect, if any.   Soft maltiness on the tongue, touch of tartness, a little bit of soil or earth.   Body is lacking, seems to fall off really quickly.   Not much about this one stands out, except for its appearance.   Seems very shallow and lacking in depth.   Finishes with some stale musty maltiness, hint of hay and straw, with some cereal aspects.   Not a top notch Amber.   Certainly not bad, but very forgetable.

Bomber from a Fred Meyer on 196th St in Seattle. Pours amber with a 4 finger foamy beige head. Aroma is mildly sour/funky/earth. Med body. Flavor is lightly metallic and a little barnyard. If it’s infected, it’s one of those times when it worked. If it’s not infected, these guys have a serious taste for different beer. Cause it has interesting flavor it’s rating higher than many ambers.

Draft @ Taphouse Grill, Seattle, WA. Pours a pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Sweetish malty caramel flavor with some hoppy hints. Has a sweetish malty caramel finish with some hoppy hints in the aftertaste.

22oz bottle from grocery store. Sour, floral aroma. Color golden brown with excessive white head. Heavy lees in bottle. Any sweetness or bitterness overwhelmed by sour. Body light and slick. Not what I expected from an amber ale. Sour beer fans might like. I couldn’t finish it.

Mild sweet clover honey aroma with a touch of a carbonic bite. Get some strawberry and lime. Reddish amber, sandy head. Little sour patch kids going on here. Don’t want to take another sip. It’s tart. Confirmed. Drainpour.

Pint @ The Traveler. Ruby brown in color. Smells so sweet. Malt is tempered with enough hops to make it drinkable. Not very balanced. Leaves funky taste in my mouth.

Hoppy,Fruit,Malt Amber. Sampled 7/10/2000. 2008 Release--22 oz. Bottle. 5.50% ABV--25 IBU’s? (0.5 / 5.0) Amber Ale--Huge over the Top Foamy pour. After settling clear rich bright amber color. Huge sediment. Impossible to pour. Sour infected body. Dumped all four bottles I have. Sampled 9/21/2009. $4.49 Each. 2009 Release--22 oz. Bottle--5.50% ABV--25 IBU’s? (3.25 / 5.0) Amber Ale--Big foamy lacy light tan head. Clear rich dark bright amber red color. Toasted earthy fruit mild hop front. Mild creamy rich malty toffee caramel fruity body. Big tight sediment hazes brown adds chalky note. Dry puckery citrus fruity sour off end. Sampled 6/4/2009. $3.99 Each. Very inconsistent and prone to infection. Same problem with other Hood Canal Brews.

Bartender at Taphouse recommended as his favorite amber, but doesn’t begin to compare to Mac and Jack’s. There was a glass at the table so a side by side comparison was easy enough. Pours an orange amber with little head. Aromas of caramel, peppery hop, faint citrus and sugar. Smooth beer, fairly hoppy for an amber, ends bitter.
