Commercial Description:
This beer has a golden color and promient hop flavor provided by numerous hop additions during the boil and dry hopping in the kegs. The supportive malt flavors and body make this ale a great multi-dimensional beer. The IBU level is 63.

Bottle. Amber beer with a dark cream colored head. Pine and grapefruit aroma. Pine, grapefruit and caramel flavor. Medium bodied, but tends more to the lighter/watery side. Decent bitterness. Resiny pine lingers with grapefruit.

Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy citrus aroma with some piney hints. Malty hoppy bitter flavor with hints of grapefruit and pine needles. Fruity malty hoppy bitter finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

On tap at Hood Canal Brewery in Kingston, WA--Poured a deep orange-amber body with a thin off-white head. Nose of gritty, piny, citric hops and caramel malts. Nice grapefruit presence. Nothing spectacular in the spine, so I assume this beer is just an off beer masked by a big hop bill. Not bad, though.

22 oz. bottle. Has a reddish orange color with a small , off white head. Subtle herbal hop, bubblegum, and grain smell. Medium bodied. Decent grainy, sweet malt flavor followed nicely with a medium bitter hop taste. Not what i was expecting from a Wa. state IPA. Tastes more like an English pale ale. April 2004

Bomber poured clear copper with thin tan head. The aroma was a bit light with sugary and roasted malts mixed with mild grapefruit hops, faint spice hops and a dash of pine. The taste is a quick bolt of sugary malts followed by fresh grapefruit hop bitterness. The hops soon become floral and spicy as roasted malts surface and take the flavor into the finish. A lingering mild bitterness, biscuit and caramel malts float for a while into the after taste. It ends a bit thin.
