Your nose will do a double take on this buxom beauty. Pungent citrus, stone fruit, floral, and pine resin aromas high jump out of the glass. Complex malt flavors steady the wheel before the hops careen you into a bridge embankment. Get ready for one massive aroma-coma!

On draught at the nanobrewery (two-barrel brewhouse) near Marengo, Ohio. Pours a hazy golden pale colored IPA with a decent sized and rocky off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some excellent lacing. Aroma of hard fruits, floral hops, a hint of pine and a touch of pear. Taste is medium to full bodied, nicely carbonated with flavors of floral and some English dry hops, a touch of citrus zest and golden grain malt. Finish starts off with a floral hop aftertaste and then escalates to a lingering mild bitterness the slowly disappears. Excellent inaugurational beer and look forward to their next release.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2015 Great citrusy nose. Retains decent white head with good lacing. Taste is citrus with dank earthy flavors. Medium somewhat sticky mouthfeel. I like everything I have had from these guys. Very good, I would have this again! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Big hop aroma. Citrus, pine, and grass. Light malt backbone. Bitter bite, but not overwhelming. Zero detection of alcohol. Very good IPA!

16 ounce can, no dating on it but this just showed up at a recent store over the past week so Iím assuming itís from a recent canning. Served in a DFH IPA glass, the beer pours a hazy golden/orange color with a couple inch white head that stuck around a while. Thereís also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like citrusy (oranges, grapefruit, tropical fruit) hops, earthy dankness and some bready malt. I think the taste is pretty much like the aroma, but the dankness really shows up and is stronger compared to the other flavors. Itís a nice dank and fruity IPA! Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís coating with moderate carbonation. I liked this one a lot, the dankness made this a nice change of pace compared to most of the other IPAís Iíve had recently. Itís also a brew that I thought got better the longer I drank it. Glad I picked some up this morning! $10.99 a 4-pack.

Taste from a can at an Athens OH bottle share. Hazy golden orange color. Thin white head, leaving good bits and ridges of lace. Nice bright orange citrus and zesty hop character, though, like a lot of hoppy beers Iíve had tonight, has a significant dry yeasty character to it too. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Bigger bitter taste, very light sweet. A solid, above-average hoppy IPA. Very dry, yeasty, but nice bright hop.

Poured from a can into a pint glass a cloudy straw yellow with a white head. Aroma is lemony high resin. Flavor is crisp, bitingly bittiter finish. A worthy IPA.

Tasted from draft. Pours a hazy light gold with white head. Aroma is floral with some pine and a little citrus. Taste is very well balanced. Moderate sweetness and moderate bitterness. Very clean long lasting crisp bitterness. Flavors of citrus and tropical fruit with floral notes, pine and caramel. Very solid IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2015 First can release. July 2015 poured in to a tulip/snifter July 26, 2015. This is an edit of a draft review done in June 2015. Can was better than the keg. Look - White head thick with a weak pour. Sticky. Pale yellow-orange color. Hazy. Sediment. Smell - Very faint hop/citrus. Grapefruit. Nutty. Taste - Bitterness overcame the citrus. Tasted a little nutty to me. A little dank. Bitterness on the tongue to finish. Feel - Heavy for single IPA. I like it when there isnít too much carbonation. Little chewy. Overall - The bread and butter of Hoof Hearted. I canít wait until they are more main scale (June 2015 review). The canned version was better than the keg (July 2015).
