bigrond (1043), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 1, 2008 Got this one in a sampler pack. I was impressed with this beer. The color and falvor was what I’d expect from a brown ale. Sweet and easy to drink. dkachur (2318), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Dec 1, 2008 12 ounce bottle from a sampler. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a small head, low head retention and not much lacing. Somewhat fruity aroma with roasted malt characteristics. Taste is nutty roasted malts with a slightly fruity finish. Medium bodied. Not bad. sward84 (24), Burke, Virginia, USA Nov 30, 2008 Very good.....rich roasted malt flavor...smooth finish. Won the 2008 Washington Post Beer Madness Championship, which is a big deal considering that breweries like Magic Hat, Dogfish Head, and Brooklyn Brewery were all in the race. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Nov 29, 2008 Brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of nuts and caramel. Taste of nuts, caramel and light toasted malt. A bit thin and watery. Nice that they donate proceeds on this one. Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Nov 20, 2008 Kinda thin, has real taste of toasted malts, slightly hoppy, some caramel, watery texture, works well for session nick76 (2636), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 3, 2008 The aroma has toasted bread, nuts, hops, and caramel malt. The appearance is brown with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall a great beer for this brewer. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Oct 30, 2008 Bottled. Deep brown and garnet colored body with a light tan head. The aroma has caramel and some nasty iced tea. There is also some light hints of fall leaves. The taste has some light iced tea and a little bit of baking chocolate. I would like a little bit of sweetness to balance out that dry character. A decent beer, but really boring. westexans (10), Converse, Texas, USA Oct 28, 2008 Aroma is non descript, nothing stands out. Has a good color for a brown. Flavor is pedestrian again nothing really grabs you. Overall pretty normal.
