sheatripper (785), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jul 6, 2008 Bottle. Light gold color with big bubbles and a quickly fading foamy head. Aroma of straw and tart appley notes. Grassy/straw mildly sweet malt flavors with some fruity tartness, which unfortunately led to a wet cardboard finish after a bit. All in all, started off OK but went straight downhill. I guess like all basic golden ales (the beer drinking equivelant of watching paint dry), just pound it and don’t fuss over flavors and such. gsmitty80 (487), Charleston, South Carolina, USA Jul 3, 2008 This beer had a very nice aroma of spice and lemon. The aroma followed in the taste as it was a little bit overpowering although i understand the neccessity to replicate that European Blond ale tast. Not great but at least .01$ went to local burn victims. doubelknv3 (439), Illinois, USA Jun 28, 2008 Golden-amber with thin head...watery. Floral, metallic, and grain aroma. Lemon, tangy, and mild malt. Bitter, unpleasant finish. Foxbush (345), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 20, 2008 This was purchased as Golden Ale by Hook and Ladder at the local Kroger’s. It poured with thick deep white head. The color was a clear light copper. The ale was thin with some bitterness in the finish. I am unsure if I would seek this ale out. porterhouse (880), Alna, Maine, USA Jun 4, 2008 (Bottle from Julio’s Liquors) Pours clear lightly amber gold with four fingers of off-white head that eventually recede to a frothy cap. Aroma is slightly weak but rather appealing - honey with bread and butter and some light hops (pine). Mouthfeel is fairly smooth but a little thin and loose. Lacing is mostly big foamy patches. Flavor is a little weak but not too bad - sort of honeyish/bready with some caramel. Light-medium bitter with a bit of a bitter bite through finish. A little weak, slightly messy and thin-bodied, fair overall.
