Commercial Description:
A crisp, clean American Ale. Perfect for extinguishing your fiery thirst or when you crave an ice-cold beer. A great step up in flavor from the lighter style American and imported beers.

Drinking from a 12 oz. botttle of Hook & Ladder Golden Ale: This has a clear golden body with a creamy head and laces in spots. It has a sweet pale malt aroma with perhaps a dollop of honey. Sadly,it’s thin an watery with very little flavor - sweet light malt, corn flakes, and a suggestion of grass. Not very interesting.

12oz bottle 4/5/09 (Woodman’s Green Bay)-Pours a medium golden with a small white head for a covering. Aroma of sweetness and grains. Taste is sweet and honey like with some hops thrown in. This light bodied brew is not bad.

12oz bottle from Total Wine (Tampa, FL). Pours a clear dark golden color with a one finger head that settles slowly. Aroma is sweet and malty with some notes of ripe fresh fruit, yeast, bread, grass, some faint floral and spice notes. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of ripe corn, dairy, grass, bread, some yeast and candy sugar notes. Generally light to medium body with a quick finish.

Pours a golden color with some orange in there and a thin white head. The aroma is mostly bready with just a little fruitiness. The flavor is bready malts with soft sweet caramel, a little bit of honey, and a very mild hop finish. A bit thin. Not something I’ll likely go out of my way to re-vist but this isn’t a bad beer and would be a wonderful swill replacement.

Deep gold with thin, fizzy white head / Weak nose of grain and honey / Medium body, low carbonation, touch of sweetness, with minimal hopping and fair finish / Flavors of grain and honey/ Lager-like and pedestrian.

12 oz. bottle. Deep gold color with virtually no head. What is there is a bright white an is carbonated. Some malt, grain, and a touch of floral notes in the nose. Very muted. Prickly carbonation with a medium mouthfeel. Due to the overcarbonation, it almost has a sort of creaminess to it. Tastes of butter, malt, and maybe a hint of grass. Strangely devoid of flavor. Towards the end I get a little vegetativeness and a very, very mild bitterness. Finishes very clean. Overall I am not very impressed.

Pours a dull brownish orange with a small, fizzy head. Aroma is weakly of fruit and hops. The flavor is a blend of garbage and cream soda. I though this was going to be substantially better than it ended up being. Not a keeper in the end. Overall, fair.

Bright amber/gold appearance with a medium size head and light lacing. Muted, caramel malt aroma. Soft, doughy, malty, gently hopped taste. Light-to-medium bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel leading to a short lived finish. A style meant to be inoffensive and this one meets that requirement. Little else going on.
