Maria (4380), Thisted, Denmark Dec 15, 2007 It’s a warm amber beer with a decent head. The aroma is malty just like the flavour that also has a nice bitterness from beginning to the end, where it gets citrussy notes. It’s an Ok bitter without being exceptional. But I think it has a lot of taste, even of it’s only 3,4% - Hook Norton really can master that! cgarvieuk (2536), Edinburgh, Scotland Apr 1, 2007 Ruby coloured ale, biscuity malt nose, fruity malt, a nice but fairly standard ale. StueyD (590), King’s Lynn, Norfolk, Norfolk, England Mar 14, 2006 A light, amber brown beer, with a weak white head. A very light, sweetish, floral hop nose, plus a tiny hint of malt. The taste is a bitter sweet hoppiness with the touch of malt again in the finish. (Bottle - purchased from Tesco as part of a four pack of small British brewer’s beers). haddonsman (1191), Derby, Derbyshire, England Jan 10, 2006 Bottled. Second beer of the Derby summer crawl with Deep Black and the only bottle sampled. Well balanced bitter, liked the nutty malts. Cornfield (4343), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Sep 12, 2005 From the bottle this poured a deep amber body, lightly carbonated, with an initially dense, creamy head. The aroma is butterscotch, apples, light earthy hops, and a hint of citric tartness. Very smooth in the mouth, the flavor is malty and nutty with light fruit flavors and a lemony bitter finish. Interesting and quite drinkable. BeerGeek.biz
