Commercial Description:
Bottled, Pasteurised;
The Cotswolds Conservation Board is celebrating 40 years of protected status for the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). And Hook Norton has joined in the celebrations with a new brew Cotswold Lion, at 4.2 per cent ABV, to mark the occasion, and 5p from every pint sold is being donated to the Cotswolds Conservation Board. The beer is a pale, fruity ale, brewed with Maris Otter malt and hopped with Fuggles. Brewer James Clarke said: “This is the first time we have brewed a single varietal beer.” Over the past four decades AONB designation has meant that the Cotswolds has been conserved and enhanced and that any change has, where possible, been in keeping with the distinctive nature of the area. HRH, The Prince of Wales who lives in the AONB has praised the work that has been done to conserve the Cotswolds over the past four decades and has said that he hopes that the Cotswolds Conservation Board will continue its work for countless years to come.

Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Average fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Clear golden colour. Aroma of mild grass, caramel, grain, ash, floral. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and mild dry texture. Moderated bitter flavour and light sweet. Dry and bitter floral finish.

Bottle. High fluffy white and long lasting head leaving some nice curtains on the glass. Clear light yellow body. Sweet and weak barley malt aroma. Thin and relatively watery flavor but yet with a rather bitter aftertaste. Low carbonation, long aftertaste.
