500ml bottle. Pours almost opaque with a dark, thin crema-like head that disappears quickly. Mild malty aroma. Sweet toast and spice, followed by malty caramel and a mild bitter finish. Smooth and rich without being too heavy, the sweetness, bitterness and malt are in perfect balance to produce an excellent well rounded beer. This is delicious and definitely one to have again.

550ml bottle from Ocado. Almost black with a long lasting tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, sweet chocolate, toffee. Taste is bittersweet from the chocolatey and roasted coffee-like malt, caramel, toffee, hints of dark fruit. Smooth. Pretty nice.

Cask at the Eldon Arms, Reading. Black with a thin beige head. Chocolate, malt, toffee, roastiness. Roastiness and bitterness grows in the finish, with a bit of plum coming through. Decent stout.

Perfectly drinkable, tasty, commercial stout. Dark and glossy, with a tan head as thick and fluffy as cotton wool. Good aroma, leading into a taste with sweet chocolate and milky coffee. Medium body, nice.

dark brown colour, huge, dense, stable beige head; aroma and taste of ash, some coffee, maybe cocoa and fruity notes - correct stout - though it would be great to know, why it is named as "Double Stout"
