16.9 oz bottle. Best by 23/02/11. Clear dark brown / red color. Big 2 finger light brown head, leaving decent lace. Not a great aroma, at first, kind of ashy. Very toasty malts. Pretty nice, lighter crisp carbonation. Drier texture. Good chocolatey aftertaste, aroma gets better as it sits and warms, and the head fades to thin. Nice light bitter sweet taste. Not bad unique and tasty stout in the end, after you give it a moment. And the bigger bottle makes it convenient to enjoy with a sandwich.

Smoke and caramel, wish I had grabbed a few more because I’d gladly drink this all night. I accidentally left in the fridge too long. After 10 minutes of drinking more flavours came through.

5/IV/2012 - 50cl bottle @ Klaas’ place - BB: n/a (2012-332) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the beer!

Clear dark brown beer, small beige head, unstable, dissipates fast, little adhesive. Aroma: very nutty, mocha, caramel, coffee. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: mocha, coffee, dark chocolate, some caramel, pretty hoppy. Aftertaste: mocha, coffee, bitter hops, dry ending. Not bad at all.

I pored this beer into a pint glass. The appearance is a dark almost black with a red hew when held up to the light. It has a tan head that reduces to just covering the top of the beer. Aroma is chocolatie with coffee and grass. The taste is light coffee with a little bitter finish. it is a little oily accrost the pallett with a lite carbonation. Overall not a bad stout but I have had better.

50cl bottle poured into a pint glass. Dark brown with one finger offwhite head. Aroma is slight chocolate and maybe some dark fruit. Flavor is basically the same but very subdued. The mild flavor makes this a tasty yet very drinkable beer. Finish is medium lasting bittersweet chocolate. Nice.

Bottle at home. Dark brown with a big bubbly creamy tan head. Aroma is very roasty, quite milky and a bit of chocolate and some coffee bitterness. Taste is very smooth and creamy. Long lasting bitter finish. Quite smooth in the mouth. Pretty nice beer with bags of flavour.

Very foamy, pours dark amber. Sweet, fruity, plums and alcohol. Tastes dusty. Smokey flavour, burnt malt, coffee, long strong bitter aftertaste.

This stout has a full flavour but a light taste and a pleasant aftertaste. It’s more like a dark ale than some well known stouts. Very easy drinking.

black/deep dark brown colour, opaque but not hazy, pours a white slightly tanned head that settles into a creamy silky pile into the middle. the aromascape is definitely something, with a very musty and dusty tone, a very deep roast side to this, escorted by dark chocolate, coffee, cream, caramel, nuts, earth, malt, herbs, grass.. a satisfying deep and complex nature. the taste carries on nicely from where the aromas left, with a very smooth overall nature. coffee-like bitterness is strongly present but in a very smooth way, sweetness is complementing the aromas in a subtle way. the body feels full but in a somewhat bubbly creamy way. carbonation works nicely with a spark but not overruling anything. texture combines creaminess with a slick oily sweep. a very balanced dark beer with a solid character. I was left wanting a bit more character from the taste and palate, bringing out more flavours from those nice aromas and that way deepening the entity. Felt like they were playing it a bit too safe. but, this again is just my personal taste kicking in.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Thanks Oren. Clear dark brown. Roasty aroma with chocolate. Roasty flavor with chocolate and coffee, light burnt hints and a drier finish. Medium-bodied. A nice Stout.
