3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Creedence (127) - Cork, IRELAND - APR 17, 2013
500ml bottle in Porterhouse Cork. Pours a charcoal black with a tan bubbly head. Aroma is great if slightly peculiar, taking in coffee, dark chocolate, burnt toast, cream and a hint of off-putting fishyness. Taste is a light roasty bitterness with a quite a bit of balanced sweetness going on. Lots of toast, milky chocolate and latte in the taste. Slightly dry but sweet finish. Smooth and creamy in the mouthfeel. Quite a tasty stout, kind of like what Guinness should be. I’ll be drinking this one again, should the opportunity arise.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Holmen1 (1073) - NORWAY - MAR 19, 2013
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Osprey87 (518) - London via, WALES - MAR 18, 2013
Dec 2012 - Roasted barley and smoke flavours, mild. They advertise ’toast’ flavour and I wouldn’t disagree. It’s quite a nice stout and I’ve no complaints.

Black, black, black with fine huge frosty light brown foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma is roast, toast and bitter chocolate. Taste is smooth, bitter chocolate, some toast. Aftertaste is quite a lasting bitter. (Moscow, 201302)
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 ryecatcher (349) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 18, 2013
Pint bottle. Pours a deep opaque brown-black, massive rocky beige head that lasted to the end, great lacing. Nose is mainly roasted barley. Mouth is pleasantly smooth and medium bodied, but rather unexciting -- a pretty standard stout with a light sweetness on the back-end and some diacetyl that reminds me of S.Smith’s Taddy stout.

Strong bitter roasted malt aroma and a hint of hop too. Flavour has nice burnt malt taste, very bitter. Very full flavoured for just 4.8% alcohol.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Grumbo (186) - Suffolk, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2012
Bottle from local supermarket. Pours well, almost black, with a decent head. Definate dark chocolate aroma, medium-full body and approaching thick texture. Enjoyable.
