Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in October 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear copper red in colour with a thin white head. Strong aroma of sweet hedgerow fruits. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt complex gives a digestive biscuit base with dry redcurrant fruit coming through. Slight dusty hop resins present in the short aftertaste. Finish is on the malty side with tart berry fruit evident. An ok session bitter.

Cask - The Crosse Keys (JDW), London. A clear, dark yellow beer with a creamy, medium sized & lasting off-white head leaving a good amount of lacing. Mid fruits & some caramel on the nose. Sweet caramel flavours with a background apple tang. Dry & grassy hop notes in the finish. Light body with an OK amount of carbonation to it to liven things up... Not a bad length finish.

Cask, handpull in a JDW, Edinburgh, with Craig, Stella & kids + Jan, Charlotte & Loz, 30.10.10 The aroma is a bit cheesy, quite an unusual nose for a Hooky beer. Reasonable biterness, bit of streaky citrus, quite crisp, some toffee and orange, plenty of flavour. A5 A4 T8 P3 Ov13 3.3

Spoons Fest! Clear amber beer. No real head probablt because carbonation is almost absent. Hint of caramel malt, quite a lot of hop bitterness but not too much hop fruit. Semi dry palate. Lingering bitter aftertaste. It’s not too bad.
