This bitter pours a medium orange gold color from a 50cl bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with good retention. The aroma is malty, flowery and hoppy. A medium bodied bitter. The malts are caramel and fruity. The hops are floral and earthy. Nice carbonation. The hops seem a little more pronounced in this beer when compared to most other English Bitters I’ve tried. Mouthfeel is a touch thin, but kind of expected for a 3.6% beer. Would be a good session beer. Mouthfeel is round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. sloth (1629), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA Mar 26, 2009 Small offwhite head, retention is short lived with very little lace. Clear, amber orange color. Nose is lightly grainy, metallic, copper, some oxydation. Body is light, dry on the palate. Lightly fruity flavors, woodsy, caramel maltiness, dry and lightly bready, . Dry, nutty, leafy finish. Pours light amber/golden with a decent frothy head. Aroma is biscuity with light floral hop notes. A very light and balanced flavor. Not bad at all. I’m curious about this style now and would like to find the best available bitters.
