Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
The latest thoroughbred from The Hook Norton stable. Hooky Dark is a dark chestnut coloured ale. Crammed full of roast malt flavours, it is complimented with superb dry hop aromas derived from the choicest East Kent Goldings. Do not be left at the starting post with this beer.

(Cask at Market Porter, Southwark, London, 23 April, 2008) Dark brown colour with frothy, pale brown head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with dried fruit (raisins and prunes). Malty, slightly roasted taste with notes of coffee and dried fruit. Dryish, rather thin body. Decent, tasty mild.

Gravity cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 7th Feb 2008. Mid brown appearance with a malty tobacco nose. Sweet malt dominates the flavour. Palate is smooth. A decent if unspectacular mild.

Cask at York Beer Fest, november 07. Clear brown color with a medium white head. Caramel, toffee aroma. Caramel, crystal malts flavor with some methallic notes. Medium to light mouthfeel, a bit watery and uninspiring. Hollow brown ale.

cask at the 2007 Oxford Beer Festival. Very dark amber in colour. Quite fruit forward on the nose, with some secondary toffee notes. Much more toffee and caramel in the mouth, some roasted nut flavors. Too sweet and heavy on the finish to be effective.
