Handpulled cask at the Nag’s Head in Reading. Ruby brown with a beige head. Malty with a little caramel and an earthy finish. Ok.

[3180-20100729] Cask. Fresh chocolate aroma. Clear, gold amber body with quick foamy white bubbles. More grainy malt in the flavour. Medium body is quite smooth. Great brew.

Delicious golden amber brown. The aroma is caramel, toast and a little bit of butter. Very light bodied. A little bit toasty. It’s ok, probably more bland than I would like.

Cask @ Swansea Bay Beer Festival 2010. Dark chestnut brown-orange. Nice color but flat. Toasted butter and caramel aroma. Flavors are likewise toffee candy, caramel, and good dark sugar/gula melaka. Interesting study of how butteriness/diacetyl can be well-integrated to create those types of flavors rather than be a flaw.

Cask (handpump) @ Wellington, 37 Bennetts Hill, Birmingham, West Midlands England B2 5SN.

Clear dark red brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, toffee and licorice notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100116]

2010-07-29. Crisp dark amber brown body with a small beige head fades. 3+ Flavour is quite mild but with a sharp grainy touch that is not unpleasant. Light roasty finish lingers. 6+ Pleasant malty aroma is mild, toasty malt, caramel accents. 6+ Smooth average to light palate. This is nice, especially considering the low abv, but a bit more of everything would be more interesting. Cask at Hook Norton Brewery

Cask. Slightly hazy orangey brown with basically no head. Aroma of nuts and overripe fruit. Light body, hard roasted malt and a little dried fruit. Dry, malt bitter finish. 160110

Cask handpull at the brewery. Pale ruby with an off white collar. Red wine vinous and sourish with Ovaltine and biscuity malts softening the fruity edge. Quite a hefty dose of Marmite yeastiness, caramel and earth. Easy, quietly complex refreshment. Less of the red wine character next door at The Pear Tree, where it was brighter and more biscuit-accented. Tasty mild.

On gravity at Reading Beer Festival, 01/05/09. A rich, fruity mild, with plenty of sweetness, nuts and dried fruits and a slightly dry finish. Easy and enjoyable drinking.
