Commercial Description:
Bottled; Pasteurised.
Pale, delicately fruity and refreshing. Hooky Gold is a beer which marries English tradition with American pizzazz. It is the first of our beers to use an American hop variety, Willamette, grown in Oregon, and having moderate bitterness with a spicy, noble hop aroma.

This poured a clear golden body with a three-fingered head that lasted pretty well for the duration. Spotty lacing. The aroma was full of floral hops with a soft pine undertone covering some honey sweetened malts. the "American pizzazz" of the commercial description reveals itself in the increase of hoppy (pine/floral/herbal/citric) bitterness in the flavor that’s well balanced by the sweet, grainy, bready malts. The finish is a refreshing pine and floral bitterness that lingers for some time. Nice drink for the upcoming warmer weather.

bottle: Typical English beer in ale vein: big hops, bitter tasting, spicy. This is a bitter tasting beer which i didn’t mind given some other flavours going on and these dry ales can be refreshing in the hot summer. Reminds me of St. Peter’s Golden Ale which was also almost harsh. Give me a bitter any day with more balance in the malts. A solid beer, but you have to appreciate this style. Still love the spiriti of low alcohol beers, really light & the perfect bev for lunch or dinner.

Bottle. Hign and lasting fluffy white head. Clear golden body. Very weak fruity aroma. Mild and round flavor pretty sweet honey with a little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a short aftertaste. Boring.

Fresh and light. Hoppy flavour, smooth. Earth and fruity notes. Medium-low in bitterness. Bit watery. Golden color, low in carbonation, medium head. Enjoyable but bit sticky-sweet aftertaste. Very drinkable.

Dark gold ornage body with a large, lightly off white head. The aroma has some definite fresh wort and malty backbone. There is also some earthy cellar and tea. The taste has fresh bread dough and apple cores. There is also some earhty vegetable in the finish. Dry throughout and a little boring.
