COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask only, Occasional;
A new brewing of an old recipe, this is being sold in cask only form under the Pubs own badge and pumpclip. The Landlords can only sell this at a maximum of £2:20 per pint.
This is a golden, easy-drinking bitter, with a well-balanced flavour which combines the fruitiness and gentle bitterness from the hops used, with a rounded maltiness from Maris Otter barley. Hops used: Challenger, Fuggles, Goldings
A further Cask version at 3.8% is being sold as an autumn seasonal.

Cask @ 3 Crows. Sour vegetable aroma. Amber colour. Resin hop flavour. Reasonably smooth. Not a great bitter.

Cask at Tobie Norris, Stamford, Lincolnshire. Bright amber. Old fashioned malt aroma. Taste is thick and malty with some bitterness. I suspect this was the 3.8% version. Quite enjoyed it.

SilkTork (4738) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - NOV 14, 2009
Vintage bottle from 1989. Warm toffee-accented sweetness with a fully soaked cardboardy bitterness. Some smoke, some chocolate. A bit of Lapsong Souchong. Hmm. Some rusty tin and some fruit. This is nice and very interesting - the flavours melding together well and counter-pointing and enhancing each other. A very satisfying experience for an old 3.3% beer.

A Mes rate. Cask handpull at Baker Street ’Sporks.
Dull and uneventful. Clean golden brown with a thin bubbly off white head. Wheaty, bready, faint bitterness and a lager like malty finish. Couldn’t be bothered with it after a sixth of a pint. Not offensive, just disgracefully dull.
