leaparsons (4659), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Jun 10, 2005 Bottle. Amber with an off-white head. Aromas are sweet and fruity with bready yeast and hints of toffee with nice floral hops. Flavours are sweet toffee and caramel malts, some berry fruit followed by an addictive but not pronounced hopping. Good for a pasteurised bottled beer. hughie (3016), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Jun 7, 2005 I like most things about Old Hooky, including the label, the name and the delightful corner of England where it’s made. Hook Norton is a great beer place to visit. The colour is attractive, as is the white head. Excellent balance between the initial sweet, caramel flavour and the solid bitter finish. imdownthepub (5087), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Mar 9, 2005 Bottled, Pasteuised. Deep amber with short white head. Fruity, slightly aweet flavour, plummy aroma. Some bitterness on the front of the tongue, but mostly rich malty. Thinner than the cask wher the beer develops further. oh6gdx (8795), Vasa, Finland Mar 3, 2005 Bottled. Dark amber colour with medium white head. Aroma of mixed berries and a bit fruity. Taste is sweet fruity at first with bitter tone in the finish. Nice bitterness in aftertaste. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Jan 18, 2005 Dark amber colour with medium sized white head. Sweet malty aroma and caramel honny taste, sweetness!!! Medium body and a light bitterness in the finish. kwik-lime (217), London, England Nov 22, 2004 Deep amber/copperish colour, slightly fruity beer that leaves bitterness through aftertaste. A little fizzy. pivo (2535), Germany Oct 24, 2004 Candylike nose, crystal clear amber color, foamy tan head that sticks to the glass. Thin light quick malt, more on the sweetish side with some honey and caramel. Nice and dainty hop bitter. Decent balance, though overall not so thrilling. Enjoyable.
