COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled. Pasteurised.
A well balanced and full bodied beer demonstrating fruitiness, with the Crystal Malt content being distinctive. The hoppy mouth gives way to a sweeter finish.

Bottled. The best way I can describe this is interesting. Slightly vinous taste, with a number of other flavors circling in the background. I'll have to try this again to see if I can pick anything more specific out the next time.

This beer was amber colored with a moderate head and wispy lacing. It had a fine floral and spicy aroma-inviting. Soft on the tongue, really fresh tasting with a medium sweet maltiness and hoppy background. Finished smooth with just a little hop bitterness.

Toasty grain and citrusy hop aroma, with touches of sweetness, wood and pine. Medium orange-copper color, with a very fine, creamy head and delicate, attractive lacing. Fruity start, with a malty, sweet background, some honey and caramel, and the finish seeing an influx of flowery, citric, piney hop flavors and bitterness. Medium bodied, with a creamy, light mouthfeel and relatively low carbonation on the palate. Well balanced and very drinkable.

Perfumey, dusty hop aroma. Malt is very bready, with a lightly sweet, bitter finish. Balance is tipped toward hop bitterness.

sweet malty aroma, pours with a deep copper hue and large frothy head, there is a good amount of lacework, nice malty taste complemented by dry hoppy notes, quite complex and refreshing

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2004 Bottled. Copper-brown color, dissipating head. Delicate aroma hops in the foreground (spicy, floral). Bready, toffeeish malt. Very well balanced and quaffable. Cheers to Capital Brewery for importing this and other traditional UK brews.

rauchbier (3205) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2003
Bottled. Bronze colour, good but shortlived head, moderate prickle of fine condition. Complex and chewy aromas (if that’s possible) of sweet caramel, toffee and peppery hop. Toffee and burnt sugar with a tingle of hop in the mouth and a faint roastiness saved itself for the finish, mingling well with the toffee and caramel.

A mild bitter. Somewhat creamy - must've been nitroed. Like Boddington's somewhat. Decently mild.

Another fine ale from the UK. Nice grassy, herbal, flowery hops blend with biscuity malt and toffee. Very fruity yeast, nice dry well-hopped finish. Nice amber color, little head to speak of. Brings back the sights and sounds of England. A fine session ale.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2009 Another winner from Hook Norton. Floral aroma. Opache amber color with quickly dissipating head. Initially sweet, more "hoppy" in the finish. Nice beer.
