Ambrata, con schiuma abbondante e cremosa. Velata. Aroma maltato con note fruttate e floreali. Nel palato ha un attacco morbido, maltato, ben equilibrato da una buona e non aggressiva. Al retroolfatto sono evidenti note di caramello, mela, pesca. Corpo leggero, carbonataziome scarna.

50cl bottle at home. Pours dark plum, head goes away. Sweet plum pudding, dark fruits, wood. Flavour is very sweet. Tangy ale. Subtle dark fruit flavours with dry wood.. Carbonation was too high for me which denies the body and for no esb is too much.

Aroma of caramel & dark fruits, reminiscent of a lot of good Belgian strong dark ales. Good dark English ale with some fruity Belgian strong dark ale hints in the taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

50cl bottle with new label. Did not recognize it immediately, since I have not seen it in years. Typical, traditional premium bitter. Pours clear brown, with minimal head - as bitter should. Light carbonation, fruity and hoppy as promised. Well balanced bitterness, lightly sweet, peachy brew. I expected it to have more body. It was not exactly full bodied beer. Well balanced alcohol content. Refreshing when served at around 7 degC, but should be served around 12-14degC (was to thirsty, and could not wait).

Bottle. Perfect looking beer. Reddy/copper pour with an attractive one finger creamy head that is maintained. Subtle malt aromas, toffee, biscuit, orchard fruit and esters. Initial hop flavoured bitterness gives way to a toffee, malt and ester flavour. The bitterness then returns leaving a dryish mouthfeel.

500mL bottle 06 JUN 14 Great looking beer in the glass; a creamy inch of persistent head sits atop a red-tinged copper body, excellent clarity. Soft yet nice aroma; malt drives with notes of rich toffee, biscuit, toasted nuts, supported by earthy hop spice and undertones of apple and stonefruit esters. Medium-to-full body, somewhat high carbonation for the style, with a nice malt chewiness. Malt is the hero here; plenty of burnt toffee, sweet cookie, toasted nuts, just the slightest hint of dark crystal, possibly even roast huskiness. Supported by lightly fruity notes of plum, peach, apple and spice. Finishes with good bitterness, lingering caramel character, somewhat satisfying. Tasty bitter. Plenty of character.

500 ml brown bottle, 4.6% abv, from Kilpishalli Kilpisjärvi.fi. Beige moderate head quite persistent on clear amber body. Scents of roasted malts, red or yellow apples. Tastes hops, roasted malts, spruce, grapefruit peel. Easy in the mouth, with decent fine bitterness. Half dry bitter ending with bisquits notes, wood, leaves, overall quite nice.
