3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle. Clear, amber golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Typical British hop aroma, notes of gooseberry and red berries. Taste is dry hoppy with identical fruit notes, subtle malt sweetness, some biscuit. Nothing special.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from a Selver in Tallinn, Sept 2014. Pours a nice clear copper with a creamish off-white, retaining head, also gives good lacing. Nose... autumn fruits and malts most apparent, also toffee and slight caramel. Taste is grainy malts and near putrid fruits at first, then more sweet (toffee or caramel) in the middle, with a fair deal of hop bitterness in the finish. Palate is silky smooth with very little carbonation, yet the bitterness brightens it all up. A good, unpretentious and relatively cheap beer to down a few while watching some stand-up.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Classic English bitter from Oxford, with yellowish white head and warm amber colour. Malty aroma, English bitter hops; taste of dried fruits, citrus peel notes, caramelly malt base, a bit oaky, long hop bitterish finish. Delivers, though I suppose the cask-conditioned version should be better.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle at home shared with Sarah from Sainburys. Had this a few times before but first time rate. Clear amber copper coloured pour with a lasting greyish cream head. Aroma is mineral, some farts, stale wet grassy hop, toffee. Flavour is toffee and toast malts, mice English yeast esters, slight metal note in the finish. Hops are a bit stale, cheesy and lacklustre. Boring beer.

Pours a clear amber with alight tan head. The smell is fruity, mild underlying malt sweetness. The taste is fruity, some mild caramel ending dry and fruity. The body is light but a bit slice with average carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle. BB 06 Jun 14. Pours a medium, orange-copper colour with 2 fingers of light beige head which disappears fairly quickly. Malty aroma with toffee and marmalade. Lightly carbonated, medium bodied. Low to medium malty sweetness and medium bitterness. A dry bitter finish with a hint of lingering malty nuttiness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAY 30, 2014 Pleasant, fairly full body malty beer with good amount of bitterness, small amount of fruitiness (raisins) little hops, nice fruity and slight cigar aroma, but. Like this beer and Pretty good option for the price I paid in Oz at $3 for one 500ml, which is cheaper than mainstream Aussie lagers and much better.

Unusual beer, tasted a lot like unfermented malt extract to me. I did drink this after the sublime Coopers Vintage ale so my taste buds were spoilt with excellence.
