Cask at Merton Beer Festival Sept’ 04. Bronze colour, roasted and fruity flavours, hoppier tasting as you get through it and nice bitter finish.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2009 Cask handpull at the brewery. Bright tawny amber with a collapsing foamy head. Discreet smokiness in the aroma, lingering nuts, Ovaltine, peat, big balancing hop. Peated malt dominant but not overpowering. Certainly enough to qualify it as a ’Smoked’. Schlenkerla shandy. Lovely

Cask conditioned @ JDW, Soton. Malty aromas and liqourice. Thin and salty, a bit on the sweet side. Could be pretty decent with a fuller body and less saltiness.

Cask Conditioned at The Hare & Hounds, Wardington. Copper bronze colour with thinnish head. A heady mix of flavours without anything too oustanding. A dry tea type hop note and a good dose of lightly roasted malt, some smokeyness. Refreshing but confusing.

Cask conditioned. Bronze with a good tight head and fine condition. Fruity nose, flavours of nut and hop with a little smokey malt and a finish that starts with toffee and gets hop bitter at the end.
