Very dark brown, almost black with a thick white head. Smells of roasted malt, chocolate and liqourice. Gentle and smooth, tastes sweet but with a strong liqorice hint and a long medium bitterness in aftertaste. Perfect for the cold, winter nights.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a steady off white head. The flavour is milk chocolatey initially with a long and deeply dry finish. The aroma is very dry and rich. Overall a very nice beer.

Bottle. pretty good for pastuerised English ale. Some nice, nutty, roasty malt characters. Smooth and soft, with some citric hop bitterness in the finish, really enjoyable.

A Mes rate:
Not the best Christmas ale I have ever had. Malty aroma with mellow hoppy notes and just a hint of toffee or something similar. Red/brown body. Poor head. A little bit too sweet and pudding like to begin with for me finishing long with some more sweet stuff then some bitterness. Erm... yeah that’s it.

I adore this bottle and it’s label. Beautiful. When poured, the beer is dark red, almost black. Creamy head. Aroma of berries and chocolate. Some spices in thre flavor including cinnamon.
