Twelve Days is a dark brown strong beer brewed for Christmas. A finely balanced ale, lightly hopped with a strong malt and nutty flavor. The strength gives the beer a smooth lingering aftertaste. A definite ale to savour.

Poured a nice dark brown with a dense off white head. Aroma was sweet, spicy with light wood and nuts. The palate was soft and it seemed to embrace the tongue. The flavour is quite sweet with notes of caramel and fruitcake with a dry bitter roasted malt finish. This is the first Christmas beer I have had that is light bodied enough to work in Australian summer conditions yet still have a respectable amount of flavour.

Bottle left over from Christmas 2012 and out of date by 3 months. Deep mahogany with an off-white head, aroma of malt & nutmeg. Taste is smooth malt with a little toffee. This has aged well & the head looks like a real ale though not bottle conditioned. Subtle bitter aftertaste, quite sweet and drinking up to its strength. Better than a fresh bottle I’ve had before.

Smells of molasses, nuts. Taste is hazelnuts, roasted red meat, treacle, with a good bitter finish. Nice & thick on the palate. Really enjoying this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle at home. Pours dark reddish brown, decent off-white head and lacing. Slightly metallic aromas, toffee malt and dark sugar. Taste is sweet, finishes sweet and strangely thin. OK.

Bottle from B&M Stockton. Very dark body with a cream head. Good rich flavours of caramel, raisin and a touch of licorice before a nice bitter stuff. Good tastey stuff, but easy drinking too.

Fra flaske, DSJT på Cardinal nov-13: stor og kompleks kryddersmak - et interessant øl som må prøves igjen. Her har de pakket mye inn i bare 5,4%.
