Twelve Days is a dark brown strong beer brewed for Christmas. A finely balanced ale, lightly hopped with a strong malt and nutty flavor. The strength gives the beer a smooth lingering aftertaste. A definite ale to savour.

I like the way that Hook does beer. Steam powered brewery with a gravity feed system that lets the wort flow from the mash tuns at the top of the brewery on down through the brew cycle till the beer reaches the ground floor. That same attention to detail can be found in their beers - i like twelve days best of all for its warmth, sweet raisin flavors, and heavy winter ale persona.

Very dark brown colour. Aroma and taste of dark bittersweet malts. Very well balanced beer with a rich, warming finish.

Bottle thanks to my sister for christmas. Pours a dark brown with mahogany flashes down the side of the glass. Smallish dense light tan coloured head. Fine lacing leaves as except the thinest film. Aromas of sweet light caramel, cinnamon and ginger and some light stone fruits. Very christmas like. Flavours are sweet thanks to all the malt with only feint hop bitterness to finish. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel with slightly resiny after taste.

Bottle shared with Veitafan. Pours a clear reddish brown colour with a small beige head. Careful aroma of some wood, leather, malt, rye bread, dried fruit and hint of chocolate. More pronounced flavour of the same but with a fruityness that feels a bit belgian. Nice. Has a slick mouthfeel, and a light bitterness. A balanced and good Christmas ale.

Coffee and caramel aroma. Clear dark brown, beige head. Definite English Ale, with smoky bacon touches. Nice.

Dark brown with a thin head.  Aroma is malty, almost almondy with a slightly fruity accent.  Sweet character, a brown ale with nutty character and a touch of dryness in the finish.

Bottle from Dan Murphy’s. Nice and malty. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, hint of cereal. Taste is sweet, with average duration. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Dark brown, with a frothy head.

16.9oz bottle. Pours a dark brown color, thin khaki grayish head. Fades a bit. Some lace. Nice nutty and chocolate nose. Good earthy hops complement the rich aroma well. Mostly bitter taste. Light spice. Medium body. Lighter carbonation. Solid british Christmas bitter. Flavorful and drinkable.
