Twelve Days is a dark brown strong beer brewed for Christmas. A finely balanced ale, lightly hopped with a strong malt and nutty flavor. The strength gives the beer a smooth lingering aftertaste. A definite ale to savour.

Pours lighter brown with near-white head that thins out quickly. Nose is soft, light baked goods spices and faint chocolate. Palate - some maple, roasted malt, light chocolate, and a hop dryness at the end to round it out. Very light in character overall. Nothing leaps out. Easily a session beer as it is somewhat thin bodied and lighter in flavors.

500 ml bottle. Dark mahogany body is clear and radiant, with ruby highlights. Medium tan head retains well and deposits some sheet lace on the glass. Aroma is malty, lots of nuttiness, with herbal hints, cocoa, vague coffee, and some roast. Body is medium with a creamy carbonation. Somewhat thin. Tastes pretty good. Roasty and nutty malts, a hint of coffee and chocolate, herbal hops, fruity red apple, and what might be pine nuts. Bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Pours a deeper brown with an average beige head. Aroma is more heavy and malty, consisting of caramel, nuts, fig, and some slight spice notes. Roasted. The taste is pretty much what I was expecting from the nose. It is more nutty here and the I do get a bit more spice, especially at the end. The aftertaste is more nutty over everything else. It lasts awhile, but isnít very strong. This is very smooth when drinking, with a medium body and some flatter carbonation. Nothing bad to report, although this one isnít all that special.

Dark brown with a thick beige head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass. Quite a malty nose, chocolate, and light spices. Strong bitter flavor up front followed by a rush of thick malty sweetness. Finishes kind of dry.

Bottle from B&M Stockton. Very dark body with a cream head. Good rich flavours of caramel, raisin and a touch of licorice before a nice bitter stuff. Good tastey stuff, but easy drinking too.

Bottle. BB Mar 2013. Pours opaque, amber brown with average off white creamy head and decent lace. Aromas of nuts, pitted fruits, currants, toffee and toast. Sickly sweet almost with a light floral hop character. Medium body, medium carbonation. Chewy toffee complex body - nutty malt, a touch chalky with a sweetness balanced with certain bitterness lingering right through the semi sweet satisfying finish. Mineral like yeast character lingering.

Dark amber/light brown color; seemingly clear. Awesome head that recedes in a rocky fashion. Light ring lace left on the glass. A surprising sour smell. Largely chocolate aroma. Tastes like a rich brown ale. There are elements of black patent, chocolate and dark crystal malts. Good hop finish that blends well with the light coffee flavors. This is a very good Christmas beer. It has elements of a porter and a brown ale. Well balanced and flavorful.
