Twelve Days is a dark brown strong beer brewed for Christmas. A finely balanced ale, lightly hopped with a strong malt and nutty flavor. The strength gives the beer a smooth lingering aftertaste. A definite ale to savour.

Dark brown with a thin head.  Aroma is malty, almost almondy with a slightly fruity accent.  Sweet character, a brown ale with nutty character and a touch of dryness in the finish.

Bottle. Ruby color with a thick beige head. Spice & roasted caramel for aroma. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Rich caramel with citrus and spice for flavor. It is suggestive of a quad with regard to malt or maybe there’s some chocolate. Finish is astringent more than anything else. I’d drink it frequently, were it available.

(50cl bottle) Small tan head atop clear copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, fig, caramel, light nut. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, fig/plum, some roasty nutty bitterness. Light-medium body, light stickiness. In the U.S., this would be considered a brown ale.

Bottled, pasteurised, 2001 version. Dark amber with bubbly beige head. Nice fruity aromatics with some damson. Thick sugary malt bofy, pudding qualities with a little spice. Faint bitterness and hops on the finish, a little sweet on the tongue. Prefer the cask.
