Twelve Days is a dark brown strong beer brewed for Christmas. A finely balanced ale, lightly hopped with a strong malt and nutty flavor. The strength gives the beer a smooth lingering aftertaste. A definite ale to savour.

Bottled, pasteurised, 2001 version. Dark amber with bubbly beige head. Nice fruity aromatics with some damson. Thick sugary malt bofy, pudding qualities with a little spice. Faint bitterness and hops on the finish, a little sweet on the tongue. Prefer the cask.

A dark clear brown ale with a thick brown head. In aroma, dark fruits, roasted coffee beans, burned caramel, quite nice. In mouth, a smooth bitter chocolate with dark fruits, light molasses, light coffee, quite nice, given this is more than 3 years old. Tasted with GRM, Probstk, and Mike H., Oct. 8 2010.

Vintage 2004 - tasted May 05. It’s a dark brown reddish mahogany color and a small head. The aroma has notes of dark fruit and the mouthfeel is full, and the flavour is rather complex and delicious. It has notes of roasted malts, light sweetness, dark fruit and hints of licorice and spice. These words might lead the thoughts in direction of Belgian beers, but this is lighter and more refreshing. I like a beer with so few %, when it has this very nice and full-bodied taste. Vintage 05 - tasted November 05. It’s not yet as smooth as the 04, but the notes are pretty much the same. I do however also find nuts in the flavour in this one though.
