Bottled: Amber coloured. Clear. Dark beige head. Aroma of malts, light hops and spices. Fruity and hoppy flavour. Quite pleasant and refreshing. Is light bitter and fruity in the end . Nice one.

Bottled, pasteurised, 2001 version. Dark amber with bubbly beige head. Nice fruity aromatics with some damson. Thick sugary malt bofy, pudding qualities with a little spice. Faint bitterness and hops on the finish, a little sweet on the tongue. Prefer the cask.

A dark clear brown ale with a thick brown head. In aroma, dark fruits, roasted coffee beans, burned caramel, quite nice. In mouth, a smooth bitter chocolate with dark fruits, light molasses, light coffee, quite nice, given this is more than 3 years old. Tasted with GRM, Probstk, and Mike H., Oct. 8 2010.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours clear amber with a creamy, beige head. Nose holds some ripe fruits, dirt, leaves. Medium sweet flavor, some bready malts, berries, plums, hints of chocolate and coffee. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, nice coffee notes, more fairly ripe, sweetened berries, nips of chocolate. Quite tasty stuff, in fact.

Bottle: Deep ruby amber coloured, relatively persistent small beige head; dry fruity-bitter nose, supported by faint aromas of liquorice and roasted malt and cacao powder; solid dry bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; lingering bitter-sweet finish with traces of dark malt and nuts. Very pleasant strong and bitter stuff..........
