Cask; Seasonal - Winter.
"A strong, dark brown beer, offering a dominantly malty palate with nutty overtones. The finish is lyrically sweet that speaks for its strength. A fine partner to the Cheese Board."

From cask at Charlies. Pours dark brown and with a mild redish glare with a small tan head. Mild fruity and hoppy aroma. Light roasted malt flavoured with a light spice note and a mild fruity accent. Dark caramel and slight breadish flavoured into a mild bitter finish. Mild liqourice note.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. I’ve had this in bottle so wanted to try it on cask. Looks in cracking condition. Very deep ruby colour with lasting beige head. Flavour of rich malt liquorice. It really is rather good. Aroma has some sour dark fruits. Good in mouth. Slightly sweet to balance the sour fruit. Nice hop kick on the finish. Warming English winter beer. Good stuff

A Sim rate (cask at the White Horse): Honey, malt and sweet maple syrup. No head, but brown/amber appearance. Nice tart syrup loveliness in the flavour. Sweet but malt but bitter. Brandy and maraschino cherries. Very nice. Flavour prevails in the finish with sweet syrup.

Cask handpump at The Wellington, Birmingham. Very dark brown in appearance, with a short head. A relatively strong hop/citrus scent. Flat and slightly thin, but not too bad. Reasonable bitterness and just a hint of sweetness, with a dry finish. Full of hops, slightly roasted nuts and plums and cherries. Not too rich and doesn’t taste as strong as it is.
