Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. I’ve had this in bottle so wanted to try it on cask. Looks in cracking condition. Very deep ruby colour with lasting beige head. Flavour of rich malt liquorice. It really is rather good. Aroma has some sour dark fruits. Good in mouth. Slightly sweet to balance the sour fruit. Nice hop kick on the finish. Warming English winter beer. Good stuff

Cask (handpump), Lord Moon of the Mall, Whitehall. A tasty, if relatively restrained, winter warmer. Plummy fruit, smooth caramel malt, nutty nuances with enough spicy hop to provide balance. Ticks all the right boxes without being too ostentatious. A fine specimen.
