Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small white head. Curious aroma: metallic at first, then plastic and cardboard. Like... the interior of a cheap suitcase. Taste is really much the same, except there’s a suggestion of tomato soup. Some bitterness. Very peculiar beer. Wouldn’t want another, but I’m pleased I tried it.

Mid orange, healthy head. Simple british ale aroma. Slightly mouldy and earthy taste. A touch nutty, with some bitterness too. Competent, but I’m not in the mood for it currently.

Cask at The Woolpack, Banbury, 15-12-07 Poured amber colour with white head. Nice spicy floral nose, lovely hoppy kick, tasty refreshing, I kept looking at this beer and thinking how impressed I was with a pint that had a winter feel to it and yet came out as a session strength pint, really lovely beer that I should have had a few more of. This is the best newish Hop Back beer that I’ve had for some time.
