Cask @ Glue Pot, Swindon. A convincing dark brown with a small tan head. Translucent. Oak, porridge and roasted malt dominate the nose. Taste is largely malt, very sweet with a slight sourness like freshly picked blackberries. Balanced sweet milky coffee aftertaste. Gentle, creamy mouthfeel. A cracker of a stout, and likely the best offering from Hop Back.

500 ml. bottle. Black colour with a big beige head that lingers for a while and leaves a great beige lace. Smell of hocolate, cofee, roasty, dark fruits, caramel, not much liquorice. Medium to light body, creamy palate. Taste is roasty, chocolate and caramel, coffee and dark frutis and liquorice is more noticeable. Good.

Cask at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge on 22 November 2013. Poured a very dark brown, near black, with a dense off white head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roast malt and light grassy hop. Strong coffee flavours initially with notes of lactose and light peat. Nice full mouth feel. Finish was burnt malt, vanilla and some dark fruit. Good cask stout.

500ml bottle, pours dark, large tan head, seems lively for a stout, nice chocolate and roast malt character, not much hop flavour comes through but the bitterness is there. Tastes good, but a bit stodgy and overcarbed. Not bad.
