Cask at the Shirley (Solihull) Beer Festival 2013. Poured a deep mahogany with a bubbly tan head. The aroma is coffee and roasted malt. The flavour is medium bitter with lots of liqourice, malt and spicy hops. The palate is a little weak, but not a bad pint.

Negra con un buen giste. Aroma a café y malta torrefacta. Sabor medianamente intenso a malta tostada, un poco de chocolate. Bien equilibrada.

Pours dark red color with a medium sized head. Aroma of mild chocolate, dark malts and some berry notes. Flavor of caramel malts, some fruity chocolate notes and toffee. Too thin-bodied.

Good chocolate-mocha truffle aroma. Straight black, two finger foamy head. Flavor’s a soft bitter that bites like a tame root beer. Malty, earthy aftertaste. Creamy front, insubstantial finish. Style score is 50...realistic as this is really the average stout in a nutshell.

A friend brought this back from England and I got a small glass of it. Black color, standard looking stout. Aroma is roasted malts, not bad, nothing special. The flavor was good, a little dry and chalky but some good malts. Mouthfeel was a bit watery. Overall, not bad but not great. I wouldn’t buy a bottle of this if given the opportunity.
