Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 13/10/10. Near black with a decent tan head. Milky coffee aroma with a touch of chocolate. Flavour had more chocolate, roasty malts and some root ginger warmth, before a dryish finish. Ok.

Bottle 500ml.

Clear dark red brown colour with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, ginger. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, chocolate, ginger notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111031]

Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Clear dark red/brown - offwhite head. Light ginger, licorice, fruity, nutty, berries, beetroot, simple, nice malty, dark chocolate, light caramel. OK.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and soy sauces. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and a bit of ginger, leading to a dry finish. The body is light.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a small orange glare with a small tan head. Aroma is mild spiced and dark roasted malty. Roasted malty and light chocolate. Mild ginger. Roasted malty finish. Ends dry and dark roasted malty finish.

Bottled. Burgundy coloured. Dense light brown head. Ginger, roast, sweetness, coffee in the aroma. Flavour of ginger, roast, coffee, sweetness and some cocoa. Medium bodied. Dry spice bitterness in the end.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a clear orangey brown with a small, rough off-white head. Sweet roasty nose. Light body, low carbonation, sweet ashy roast with a twist of ginger. Subtle malt bitter finish. 311011

Bottled. A black beer with a tiny off-white head. There is ginger in the nose with smoky roasty notes. Very subtle ginger in the mouth. An oily texture and roasty malts. Very nice and quite slick.

bottle at home ... dark brown black ... thin tan head ... soft dark roast malt nose ...big ginger front ... solid roast malt ... little chocolate ... only a light bitterness ... quite nice ... well balanced ... ginger at just the right level and compliments the chocolate roast well... body little fizzy ... love to try this in cask
