Cask Conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Light brown with thin head. Fairly standard mid malted bitter, some roasted notes and a sweetness in the body, a hint of spice was detected. A certain boiled hop note with pepperiness, but overall unexiting.

tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JAN 20, 2012
First tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in October 2002. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear russet in colour with a thin white head. Slight sulphurous note in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt base gives a digestive biscuit note with dry raisins present. Dry hops in the bitter aftertaste, short in intensity. Finish runs out of steam though with weak malt just about evident. A poor session bitter. One of the few beers in the extensive portfolio that’s not gold in colour!
