3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Mungo (2472) - Southampton, - OCT 12, 2006
Cask conditioned @ Humble Plumb, Soton. Golden appearance. Fresh zesty hops on the nose which follow through into the mouth becoming slightly piney and resinous and leading to a refreshingly restrained bitter finish which lasts well. Along the way there is some sweet biscuity malt, I would have prefered slightly less sweetness and a bit more flavour. Like several of the modern golden ales the hop character seems to suggest US hops although no quite so full on as might be found in the US.

Cask at Twickenham beer festival. Gold with fruit and hop nose, sweetish body, herby finish, nice though it doesn’t live up to its name.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 21, 2007
Cask, The Crown, Nuneaton, 5%. Lagery golden pint. Clean, crisp and quenching. Struck matches, lemon and lingering crackerbread. Pairs up US hop character with that of a cask English golden ale quite tastily, but doesn’t live up to its name.
