bluekuma (94), London, Greater London, England Jan 3, 2007 Bottle conditioned. Amber hued with lasting foamy white head. Aroma is bready, yeasty with some subtle spice. Suprisingly easy drinking this; strength well hidden. Well rounded malt with a wisp of spice- more like a mildly spiced best bitter than a more typical Xmas ale. A well made botttle-conditioned ale if just a little unexciting.
bobinlondon (485), Harrow, Greater London, England Dec 15, 2008 Handpulled cask at the Doric Arch, Euston. Bronze with a small off white head. Very rich for strength but with ample hop and spice bitterness to off set. A bit rough arount the edges (unrounded) and not what I would expect from a brewer of this standing. Magicdave6 (4153), London, Greater London, England Sep 1, 2008 Bottle at the twickenham tasting. Alround rating: A big spicey beast, clove, orange, xmas pudding, immencly spicey. harrisoni (5605), Ashford, Kent, England Jul 21, 2008 Twickenham Brewery tasting 08. Very spicy. Overly spicy. Too much, bit of tea. Base beer is ok. hotstuff (3060), Indiana, USA Mar 5, 2008 Bottle. Small vanilla hued head that mostly diminished, spotty amounts of lacing, transparent, carbonaton observed, and a red orange hue. Nose was sweet, cinammon, spicy and hint of coriander. Flavor was sweet, lightly bitter, cinammon and some hops. Smooth mouthfeel and medium in body. Not a great beer by any means, but not extremely bad either. I couldn’t acquire a liking for the taste of this beer. Not one that I’ll want again. thedm (3407), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 1, 2008 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy fine to large sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a softly carbonated brown colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was malty and mild spice. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt and mild spice. An OK brew just nothing special.
