COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
Terrific straw-coloured beer with a fresh, hoppy aroma and a well rounded, malty flavour with an intense bitterness which leads to an excellent long, dry finish. Winner of numerous, prestigious awards, most notably Best Strong Bitter at The Great British Beer Festival in 1992/93.
Ingredients: Optic pale malt. East Kent Goldings and Challenger hops (The bottled version uses EKG only).

Pale in colour like a lager, but aromas are stronger, more hoppy and floral. Flavour is very much an ale though and hops come through really strong, like it’s been dry hopped. Lots of citrousy English hop flavour coming through and then really and bitter and dry on the finish. Texture is light bodied but chewy in the mouth because of the hops. Bit too much hops for me, which overpowers this Summer ale.

500ml Bottle from LCBO. Bottle conditioned. Pours a light yellow with a big and long lasting off white head. Aroma is yeasty, grainy, and some floral hops with a tiny bit of banana ester. Flavour has spicy and citrusy hops with a nice light bitter finish. Decent but underwhelming.

(botle conditioned) A bit Pils-esque ; one of those golden ales that are lagery both in apperance and character.Pretty aromatic drinking ;,slightly spicy through out ; leafy bitter hoppiness mingle well with an earthy ,almost muddy subtle malt backbone -a lotta dry citrusy vibez. . Better than i remember it being. Mellow, light, easy to drink.

not a bad beer, and maybe not the time to be trying a beer called, "summer lightning" in january, but still, not enough body or flavor to really take notice, color is fine, pale straw, but as a blonde ale, this is more of a lawnmower beer than anything.

500ml bottle. Pours pale gold with a very thin head. Aroma is floral hops and honey sweetness. Grassy hop start and floral and zesty hop finish. Full in the mouth but needs more carbonation.

Bottle conditioned. Vaguely hazy pale gold, mildly fruity malty aroma. The taste is somewhat citric with notes of other fruits. The finish is powerful (but not overwhelming) hops and dryness. A nice brew.

[3187-20100731] Cask. Mild dirt and horse poop aroma. Clear, light brown body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Not much flavour, some grainy alcohol. Light-medium body. Fair.

Warning! Early amateur rating! A well carbonated ale. Plenty of flavour but needs to be cold. Quite a bitter finish.

Takes a while to settle... Dark yeasty residue but smooth creamy flavor. Very unique ale.
