3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 4, 2003 Amazingly light beer for an English ale. Nonetheless, this straw colored, foamy brew is a good quencher, in the manner of, say, Cooper's Sparkling ale. Aroma is like grass, drying in the sun. Flavor is hop-dominated, crisp and distinctly dry with a grassy hint. I don't mind this stuff, but I think they're paying their label writer extra bucks for hyperbole. Good summer refresher. Yeasty Oberon-like flavor noted also, this is not bad.

weird i’ve never rated this. had plenty of 500ml bottles and from tap. clear golden pour with thin firm white head. aroma is very floral, hoppy and citrussy. really nice citrus taste packed full of hops. slightly bitter finish. very nice and one of my favourites in the summer.

Really odd. Hard to describe this. My first thought was mouldy or musty but the more I drank it the more I understand the other review that described it as farmyard candy floss. innkeep suggests it's popular. Odd simply odd. Not sure I'd have this again.

Summer beer and a pioneering golden ale at least in England. Pure orange blonde robe, pleasant aroma of apple, pineapple, mandarin, honey, flowery hops, appetizing. Refreshing, soft and crisp, vivid palate, smooth, sweetish with a mild hoppy finish, very thirst-quenching. Delightfully elegant beer, I can easily imagine drinking more than one on a hot summer day.
