3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 4, 2003 Amazingly light beer for an English ale. Nonetheless, this straw colored, foamy brew is a good quencher, in the manner of, say, Cooper's Sparkling ale. Aroma is like grass, drying in the sun. Flavor is hop-dominated, crisp and distinctly dry with a grassy hint. I don't mind this stuff, but I think they're paying their label writer extra bucks for hyperbole. Good summer refresher. Yeasty Oberon-like flavor noted also, this is not bad.

Cask at the Station, West Byfleet. 26/07/16. Sharp citrus aroma. Bright golf. Thick blotchy head, with good life to it. Soft bodied, slightly bitter. Crisp citrus. Exactly what you want from a golden ale.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with a one finger white head. Aroma is mildly hoppy, malty, biscuity. Taste of sweet malt, bitter hops, lemon zest, slight biscuity and slight grassy flavour to it. Pretty good, refreshing beer, though not one of my favourites.

Cask at The Duke William, Burslem. A clear golden colour with a frothy white head. Aroma of lemon, some honey, slight biscuit and subtle floral hops. Taste of lemon, a little honey, a hint of banana, some biscuit and slight floral hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A dryish, slightly biscuity, floral hop bitterness in the finish. Quite a basic, strong golden ale. Quite balanced which I like but not as hoppy as I want it.

Unusual pale lemon appearance, unfiltered with a white foam. Aromas of honey, lemon, banana. A very fresh beer. Surprisingly bitter malty taste with medium body. Grassy and fresh. Would be great on a summers day as a refreshing beer, not my usual style but would recommend.

Very different than ussual appearance. Hazy light lemon/honey color with lively frothy white foam.
Aromas of malt and yeast, lemony, banana, fresh and saison like?
Palate, medium body with thickish texture with hoppy finish.
Taste is bit hoppy bitterish, but still it has its golden lightness and grasseness to it.
Overall, nice refreshing, standart hoppy golden beer. But it looks really nice to me appearance wise.

I tried this ale a few weeks back before the summer really started, and didn’t really like it, thinking that it was quite a typical ale. Now that the summer has kicked in, its the first thing that I want to see after a hard days labour. It is golden in color and in taste, with hints of banana and orange. It’s bitterness is of a kind nature, not too sweet and not harsh on the throat. It’s color is quite deceiving, pouncing up on u with 5% of kick. I hope to be able able to walk into any pub this summer and be able to order a pint of this pure gold.
